BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Potvin is an educator and leader of educators-an overachiever-with experiences as a school and university administrator, university professor, classroom teacher and educational technical advisor and consultant for government and non-governmental organisations and external evaluator for university and church programs.

Having designed and led in the implementation of two accredited Bachelor of Education degree programs in Alberta and was the first appointed Associate Dean for both programs. Bernie has been a Superintendent of a small system of three schools.

Between 1996 and 2000 Dr. Potvin worked as Director of Learning Services, Baptist Union of Western Canada in Calgary. Has co-authored three books and written numerous articles and regularly asked to present on topics in education ranging from assessment and evaluation, creating hybrid and blended courses based on principles of effective classroom and group dynamics, concept formation and performance anxiety.

Dr. Potvin is co-founder of Old Guys in Action, a humanitarian group that promotes learning, engagement, networking and fund raising for charities such as Servants Anonymous Foundation, Cause Canada and Mully Children’s Family. We have raised over half a million dollars through cross country bike expeditions (Sierra Leone, Guatemala), marathons (Toronto, Calgary, Kenya) and annual Calgary Ice Breaker Polar Dips (Calgary). Currently I am a sessional faculty teacher at the University Calgary and hold an Adjunct Faculty appointment at Gonzaga University, both in Education.
