COR 500 - CORNERSTONE MODULE A-C: ENGAGE IN GOD'S MISSION IN THE WORLD

WITH STUDENT MICHAEL LUM

My name is Michael Lum and I am in my first year of the MDiv program. I am currently the lead pastor of Cremona Congregational Church in Cremona, AB, a husband, and father of two great kids.

My story leading up to Carey includes many things. I have my BA in Pastoral Leadership from Rocky Mountain College in Calgary, AB and that is where I met my soon to be wife. God called us to Cremona in November of 2017 and it has been a great experience so far in the area of pastoral ministry.

I look forward to learning, growing in my knowledge of God, and in my love for Him at my time with Carey. So far, that is exactly what has happened with the Cornerstone course and a course taken this past summer. My hope is with this degree and the courses that I take is that they won’t be purely for intellectual advancement, but more importantly that I would grow in my love for Jesus and my role in His mission.

The cornerstone course which I am currently taking through Carey has its goals as exactly that; that I would know God, who He is, grow in my love for Him, and my place in the mission of God. Even though I am not on campus, I have grown in my relationship with some fellow classmates through classes that use Zoom as well as the intentionally of being in contact through email or phone with people throughout the world that are enrolled at Carey. To God be the glory!

Blessings,

Michael
