Course Description

This course situates ancient Israel’s Latter Prophets and Sacred Writings within the Old Testament canon, examines the importance of these texts in characterizing and responding to religious and political crises in pre- and post-exilic Israel, discusses their multiple genres, and highlights key theological themes and exegetical significance for ministry. Using various methods of interpretation (e.g., historical-critical, social- scientific, literary-critical, theological-canonical, case studies, and contextual approaches), the course examines the ongoing significance of these texts for communities of faith. Part of the Cornerstone sequence.
